Water has never ever been more precious and sacred to me than in this past year where, when waking up each morning we wondered, "Will we have water today?" Because the answer was never totally clear, we took extra measures to ensure that by the end of the day we would at least have enough water for dishes and one toilet flush. We learned to stand in buckets while taking bucket baths then used that collected water for flushing toilets (using the system "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down"). When brushing teeth or washing faces the water ran only momentarily but was otherwise turned off. Shane's bedtime bath times were often a mere inch or two of water.
But that was before, because today we live like kings. There are two huge tanks of water on our roof top filled to the brim, and from every tap water flows (not trickles). We no longer stand in buckets nor do we take bucket showers. We flush the toilets every time and when guests come over I say with glee, "Please do wash your hands!!"

It was so fun to see & hear you & Shane & the background noises--what a wonderful gift water is!

Awesome. As you know, I'm rereading my journal from the Great Cath/Lib India '98 Shabang (we really called it that at one point!) and am reliving those days of bucket bathing and squatty potties.
I'm glad you have more water now. :)
What a cutie!!
Love you Shane.

Sooooo stinkin' cute!!!
Isn't it a shame we have to turn it off at all? Joey too loves the trickle of water running, but after a few minutes the guilt starts creeping in for "wasting water". How can it be a waste when it brings so much joy and wonder to our precious little people! Love the video ;O
